Please help me with any information you may know about this lamp. I would love to know the approximate age. It appears to be early, with cold painted cast iron figure and cannon. The plug also appears old with very thin wiring that I was afraid to plug in, but worked. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The cannon is actually very close to era including the lower mounted trunnions.

Thank you so much for your help. Do you know the approximate age of this lamp? Do you think that the cannon & figure are from an earlier era?

I can't even tell if he is wearing a hat or helmet from the pic.. I just made the comment because most representative old cannons on things like this don't show any knowledge of the real thing. The lower than bore trunnions generally mean 1800 or before.
