Hello this is in my sons room when he visits. My ex-wife has my brothers bed, he did not want it. So I used it from 1950 on and son used it 1991-2009. It is oak and boys abuse everything but these 2 beds are strong as an oak tree! haha Maybe they are from 40's but parents bought them used, I lived in Nebraska, maybe midwest type beds? any help appreciated! toracat

The joints I can see are floating joints from the looks, hard to see. Few people even know how to build this way anymore. You would have to try really hard to ruin that type joint. Very time consuming to build and in a throw away world people won't pay for craftsmanship.

Thanks! They are floating joints, with pegs and inserts! Well made!

I tip my hat to you toracat. Few people know what a floating panel or floating joint is. Even fewer have the ability or equipment to to make them. It will certainly out live us.
