i bought this item the other day on a small pick in a guys barn he sayed it was used to pick the dead tobacco leave off in the huge fields that were to big to walk all the way through he said some also used it for picking tomatoes in a commercial field it has a 3.5 hp clinton engine u steer with your feet he also said it was supposed to have a basket on the front to put the produce in but it is missing i have looked all over the internet to find what it is and i cant do it i took a gamble on it buying it part of the tag is missing but it says built in Paris , KY serial # 236 has a bell as a logo on it someone please tell me what it is cause i have no clue what is called

While trying to find out what this contraption my dad has owned for years I stumbled up on ur post.. he has a similar machine but his has the steel wheels , it also has a wooden wheel that is fixed around where your knee would be that when you want to ride you simply lift ur leg and it applies pressure to a belt and it goes! You also steer with one front wheel.. your in more of a laying position whil on this particular tool .. he refers to it as a tobacco pruner (picker) , he says its used for pulling leaves while the plants are in the field..
