    says "sweden" and "cast steel" also says something above sweden but can not read.. i'm thinking a coal pick or ice pick??

      That is a double bit mill pick also commonly known as a dressing hammer. They are fairly common but not inexpensive. The mark on it will make the difference in the value. You will find lots of them for sale. The ones to watch are the ones that actually have bids on them. Probably used by a quarry worker or mason.
