I just want to show off one of my prized possessions. My boyfriend bought me this gorgeous porcelain American bald eagle in an antique shop in Stonington, Maine last summer for a birthday gift. I saw it in the shop window passing by and had to have it! He's about 14 inches tall. His head and claws are a shiny glaze while the rest of his body is matte finish. Nice details and the feeling it projects is wonderful -- almost magisterial. It is signed on the bottom: "Anthony Copyright 103-USA." There is also a sticker from Freeman and McFarlin Potteries of California. The woman we bought it from said it was made in California in the 1960s. Isn't he a beauty?
