Found this hatpin in my kitchen wall while doing renovation work today, and I'm just trying to find some information. My house was built in 1890. Thanks!

What an interesting find. The date is certainly correct. The hatpin would date anywhere from 1890-1920. You could try polishing it up but I will say there isn't much value to the hatpin as-is. Looks like some considerable corrosion and the pinstem is pretty bent up. It would be a fairly general or common hatpin, too. I'd polish it and keep it as a fun reminder of a lady who once lived or visited in the house.
