This book of matches is from the "Mob" era of Vegas. The MINT is located in the downtown Las Vegas area called the Fremont Street area.

The takeover of the Mint by Binion's Horseshoe in 1988 was a lot more significant than a lot of people realize. It wasn't until the Mint was acquired that Binion's Horseshoe had a permanent poker room. Up until then, the World Series of Poker timeframe was the only time that the Horseshoe ran a card room.

The Mint had an awesome sign in front, too. I miss that.
