Found this last week. I have no idea what it is. Clearly carved by someone maybe as a joke? There is a small pocket like piece attached. The bottom reads:
"A DATE WITH ME"
No clue what this means, what this is or who it is. But I know sometimes we can come up with some creative ideas. My guess: a key holder that hangs near the door.

fascinating. I bet it had some type of calendar, maybe a day to day calendar. Maybe the phrase "a date with me" was a play on words?
the man in the image is lighting a pipe so my guess is it is a match safe / holder.
