Ten years ago I purchased the contents of an antique and collectible store. Just the other day 2/20 /11 for the umpteenth time I picked this item up. At first I thought it was a badly rusted piece of iron until I rubbed my thumb across the bulbous part and was surprised that it took on a shine. Being a dreamer of sorts I got out my gold and silver testing kit and applied the 18K gold test. It had no effect. I then dropped it into a silver cleaning solution. Presto you see the results. I can't figure out the metal type as I don't want to chance a second test. Im not to sure it's silver. The chain measures 4" The coat of arms 2" x 2'. The nobs are pyramid shaped and the markings on the back air bubbles though some have shapes such as a sword fish snail, snail etc. I know one of you experts out there know what it is and thanks.
