My first jewelry I've posted here was my blue enameled cut rose jewelry set. I'm quite fond of that wonderful combination of diamond, silver and deep blue.
Therefore you understand that I am very happy with my newest acquisition; this beautiful Georgian blue enameled gold rose cut diamond navette ring. It's a stunning and rare French piece from ca 1830 (Georgian period in England, reign of Louis Phillipe in France). Opulent, large, total of 75 diamond encrusted and of 14/18K k gold ring with vibrant deep royal blue enamel, it's fit for royalty. Even the back side is a work of art. The ring is predominantly yellow gold with silver mounts to set off the diamonds.
In the center, a bird with rubin eye flowers and leaves composed of rose cut diamonds is mounted on the blue enamel background. Around the edge, rose cut diamonds set in silver make a thick sparkling border.
The band is wide with a groove along its length. There is a decoration on either side acting as extra support for the large, heavy top. The back of the ring is solid gold decorated flowers. There is one hallmark I cannot not decipher but the ring was tested for at least 14K.
The top of the ring measures 1.1" (27 mm) by 0.4" (10 mm). It weighs 7 grams. The condition is - well, perfect- amazing for jewelry of this age.
