Influenced by my love of teaching, I am interested in anything school related. After acquiring this desk, I was thrilled to learn of the many contributions Milton Bradley made to the Kindergarten movement here in our country. In the late 1800s-early 1900s Milton Bradley produced many learning aids to support the philosophy of the kindergarten movement, and later made quality school furniture as well. I am not sure of the age of this piece. If anyone has information on how I might find more information on these desks and/or the history of school desks, please share!

Oh I had a similar model like this in school in the 70's. It was old already then. I also like school items from the past, I have two school posters in earlier posts. Do you know if you had that System in your country? In my country the schools could borrow them from somewhere, like a poster library I think, and change them when needed, they had a number and was part of a system of posters. Lovely bench!
