This ashtray is 13sm across the canter, very heavy and has what I believe in a horse (with all its bits showing) in the center I was told it was French but have never known for sure.

Is it French? It's screaming Swedish to me...

looks like something inspired by Erik Hoglund, he has similar design ashtrays, but I don't recognize that image.

Swedish glass, Erik Hoglund, Boda Glassverk, Horse Medallion, Low relief sculpture, shallow bowl This shallow bowl, low relief sculpture, or ash tray was made for Boda and features a horse. It is a thick and heavy piece of art glass and is not signed, but there is no mistaking the maker. Hoglund did several versions of these heavy glass slabs for Boda featuring different animals, people and the like. In an art glass world where things are often delicate and flowing, Hoglund's work has a bold, hefty and almost primitive presence to it that make his work very sculptural and refreshing.
