    Found this in a space behind a wall!! Can you please help? What is it? We live in a 100+ year old home. The item has wooden wheels, a chain that makes the brushes go around. It also has a metal handle that runs from the back to the front. The brushes are very stiff bristles.

      Looks like an early duct or chimney cleaning device.......?

      Is the handle higher than the nut at the front?
      Does the front end flex just back of the gears?
      What is the width, length & height?

      The length front to back is 30 inches, width 11 1/2 in, and height with handle 8 inches. The handle is slightly higher then the nut. It has a heavy spring in the front. It probably did flex but I don't want to force it.

      IDK.... but duct cleaner sounds plausible to me....another thought...floor prep tool before laying out marble tiles. Will be watching this postto see who and what this contraption is :-)....Love it
