This little guy is 2.75" tall, and is a beautiful glowing golden yellow in an acid-etched satin finish. It has a lovely thick silver overlay that is also hand tooled. As with my other little green vase in the first image, this vase is lucky to be here today. It was stuffed into a priority mail box that was narrower than the vase, so the package arrived with a bulge in the middle. I held my breath as I opened it, and was hugely relieved to see the vase wasn't broken to pieces. So, here is a picture of the two little survivors together - and I think they look very nice that way. :)
Gorgeous!!!
Thank you, Lee & nutsabotas6!
Hi idcloisonne,
These were made in the art nouveau period, so I'd say from about 1890-1910, give or take a few years. I do believe the vases with silver overlay were usually satin or iridescent satin - it seems to set off the silver better, in my opinion. But then again, many vases in general were matte during that period rather than shiny. Hope this helps - I'd love to see your green vase! :)
These are just beautiful Michelle007....:-)
Thank you very much, inky! :)
Gorgeous!

You have a fab collection! Thank goodness it wasn't broken! It's amazing what some will do to save a buck, right?! Glad it made it to you safely.
