This wonderful tray was passed down to me by my nan. Have always loved it despite its terrible condition and very unsympathetic repair. Having searched the internet today, I have found out that it may be a work by C S Luber of the J von Schwarz factory c1900. My only doubt is that on those that I have found, the letter on the back is accompanied by an inlaid number - could this be a copy or perhaps a second? Let me know what you think, would love to know your thoughts? Thanks

It seems to show some age by the stapling of your tray. If I am correct & maybe not I don't think they staple items together anymore. Wonderful

Am so excited and grateful for your comments so far. This has been in our family for such a long time and it is so wonderful to be putting a history to it - thank you so much.

Moonhill is right. This is 100% period and typical of Luber's works and Schwartz quality. The ceramic staple repair suggests it was done prior to the era of epoxy, probably the 20s or 30s.
