    Found this 12" vase at our Local GW and really liked it. The finish reminds me of the antique metallics that Stangl used on some of their pieces. It has Chinese characters on each side. I don't know if they have a meaning or are just random decoration. You can see a wiped two tone effect to the glaze. The interior is glazed with a solid taupe color. There were no marks anywhere and the bottom had a felt on it at one time but it's been removed. Probably had a label on it as well. It's kind of heavy and made from a cream colored pottery. Hopefully someone might know who the maker is and I'll take a guess it's from the 50's. -Mike-

      I think...guess...that the one that looks like a T is wood? I'd google popular Chinese symbols...
      Looks like pewter from the pictures.

      Thanks Amber....I have some large blue and white jars with the double happiness character. They're usual given as wedding gifts. So it might be. It's just curved a bit to fit the surface of the vase.
