    Picked this up along with the Madonna and Child painting at VOA. It's a nice 12" x 14" chalk ware plaque with no visible damage. Alexander Backer made lots of chalk ware figurines and wall plaques. Not much about the company however. The newer pieces have a silver foil label that says ABCO. This one has Alexander Backer Co. stamped into the frame so it's probably older. Very rare to find this bas-reliefs without damage. This lovely little lady is very nice with pale pink and green tinting. -Mike-

      My husband used to have two of these pictures from his family. One broke but the other is in great shape. Anyone know what it would be worth?

      Actually it is a little different than the above picture. Ours is a man and woman kissing.
