La France Division of General Foods Corp. Blues and Whitens Product Advertising Box

Has anyone seen or heard of this brand before? Apparently the name General Foods was established in 1929 which the La France product was made by. I have no idea what the exact use was for this item. Apparently it was used with soap to blue and whiten more safely as the box says. It is interesting on the back it gives directions on washbowl laundering and how to use it with a boiler when boiling your clothes. Who really does this kind of stuff anymore....
