Went to look at purchasing a 1937 signed baseball and found this in the ladies garage. Anyone have an opinion as to what i should pay for this? She has to move in the next week and doesn't want to haul it and i know nothing about this machine. I've had a couple old ones in the past that i bought and sold but never ran across one with this much ornamental detail. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the video, that helped. I won't be burning the gas in my van to go pick it up since the drawers are already empty.
Well I hate to disagree with Mike , but in this case I do . There are more and more people getting into collecting the antique and vintage sewing machines . For one thing they were built to last and they do . I would much rather have one of these old machines than the newer plastic machines . They have plastic gears that crack and break some in short order . The machine pictured above is called a Singer Redeye or Redhead and is highly sought after by collectors . Especially one this nice . I have one in mint condition . When I first got mine one like it was selling on E-Bay for $800.00 . And contrary to what Mike said they are not found in every barn in as nice condition as the one above . If they are stored in a barn then most are toast by the time someone finds them . But if taken care of they can be worth some money . It all comes down to condition of the machine and the cabinet . I would not be surprized that the one above would bring a good price once cleaned up . I have paid as much as $200.00 for a treadle machine just for the nice cabinet . The machine was not much and I put a better treadle machine into the cabinet . So there are several factors to take into consideration .

I just bought this sewing machine at a garage sale for $20.00 i'm snooping around to find out how much it is.
They are not really worth a lot, although the condition and type of cabinet can make a big difference. One of the most common Singer models for USA.
