3' diameter, weighs around 200 pounds . Found in back yard. A Blacksmith was there in the late 1800's.

It's a sprocket not a gear.
Still a cool find in your backyard!
looks like a horse drawn manure spreader sprocket.
To me the shape of the sprocket tooth indicates it's the drive sprocket for an early tacked machine (crawler/cat/dozer).
Here is a similar sprocket with drive hub removed.
