Mdina Love Birds

T think CW has gone to the birds!! Meaning we should have a *THEME* week. This week if you wanna post any items that relate to Birds, Please do so. You do not have to do this - but would be kinda nice. Again I say that *relates* to birds so that gives a wide spectrum. From Glass Birds, to hunting, to things made of Feathers, advertising with Birds names in it -- Etc, etc....Etc.

Anyways back to this post....

My Mdina Love birds in which I was told they are a post-Harris design (probably Joseph Said). Mark Hill describes as the "jewell-like" blue & yellowy streaks. The blobs come from the addition of silver chloride salts to the gather. Then the heat separates the silver ions from the chloride ones, so the silver is freed to interact with the glass.

It is also my understanding that these labels were used until the 1990s.
