    Well folks hope ye are good across the water, just got this top hat yesterday, 2 euro, I think its called Garantie klapphut , its spring loaded , enjoy, Anthony

      Size: about 58.5 cm circumference
      Height: about 15 cm
      Length: about 31.5 cm
      Consistently deep black. The pictures a bit deceiving.
      Inside the seam partially loose.
      Up on the surface, a pressure point. Edges bumped and with a little wear.
      With "defective" box

      That was what I meant when I said a Dancers prop when they danced with a cane also :-)

      In french they are called "chapeau claque" or Gibus.
      Antoine Gibus was the first to patent the system in Paris in 1834.
      First appears in London 1824.
      Was used in travel, or receptions or attending spectacles as folded you can hold it under the arm.

      Ahh thanks its a bit worn but sure if I live as long as it I would be fairly worn lol
