Had this for awhile. Came as part of a "Americana Lot" that I won on an auction site. Nice little box, I think it is tin. Looks like hand painted. Anyone know more about these?

This could be for sewing accessories to a sewing machine. I have a hard plastic one about this size that says singer on it. I can't think of the "other" sewing machine that was out way back in the day...White something or other. And if I remember correctly, it was decorated close to the same as this box you have here with the base of it black. UGH! I'll sleep on it and see if I can remember :)
