I didn't find anything again at Salvation Army but this paperweight. I was helping Christi sort through and untangle some jewelry. When I got ready to leave and pay for it, she just bagged it and said "Here you go for helping me with the jewelry." I was surprised to say the least because I told them it was signed. The bottom has Robert Eickholt's etched signature with the date 1993 and WSVF . He designs a full range of glass items in his studio. This is one of his paperweights that he terms "Fountain Nebulae Vortex Cobalt & Gold Metallic Cutaway". It's beautiful with a gold mirrored outer finish that gives the gold metallic fountain a holographic effect. The cutaway provides a window to show off the controlled bubble which looks almost like a pear shaped pearl creating the metallic splash. Not to shabby for a half hours work. -Mike-

Robert Eickholt has been captivating audiences with his love of glassblowing for over thirty-years. Bob first studied glassblowing in Berkley, California, later continuing his education at The Ohio State University, and Columbus Collage of Art & Design in Columbus, OH. In 1978 Bob founded Eickholt Glass Co. where he has been producing a look his own ever since.
Early on Bob enjoyed playing and experimenting with various glass techniques, this obsession would lead him to create new decorating techniques that were distinctive of Eickholt Glass Co. Many of the techniques used today involve the use of precious medals such as silver and gold, as well as rare oxides such as cobalt and dichroic glass.
Some designs are enhanced by the use of millifiori that are designed and blown at the studio. These techniques are combined to create the unusual beauty in his ocean themed designs. His mastery of depth and space endow his designs with an enduring interest that makes them both memorable and beautiful. The one by one production method has produced finely crafted pieces of fine art glass that has given the studio a reputation for incomparable quality and beauty. Eickholt’s commitment to constantly redefining the designs and experimenting with colors, shapes, and techniques gives his glass a dynamic quality that has made his glass a tradition nationally and internationally.

Thanks Karen :) I think the cutaway creates a window effect. If you look at it thought the gold mirrored side the interior looks just like a hologram. Really a beautiful effect.

....and Free. Now that is a SCORE!!! Very Beautiful Mike!!

Just do not put (leave) on windowsills -- as PW can cause damage.

Glass paperweights + SUN = DAMAGE

Thanks Rose :)....wow that is a freak accident ! I can see why since it was a clear paper weight that focused the sun's rays just like a magnifying glass. Still, what are the odds for all these conditions to be right to cause a fire ! Mine just sit on the desk in a rather dark room. I think I'm safe .
