I recently picked up five small plates measurement are 6 1/2Wx 6 1/2L . The one charger is 10 1/4 x 10 1.4. The are octagon. with gold edging. I have looked through probably 3000 images and can not find any other plate like this. Can anyone tell me history and type of plate.

From Gothenberg's website that also has photo of your plate, see no. 608 under heading "JAPAN - MADE IN JAPAN:"

"608: The two red characters are: Bi jutsu = "beautiful artwork" which are probably a brand name or product line. Decoration in traditional "Imari" style. The three black vertical characters read IMARI. Modern, late 20th century."

      A very pretty plate.
