I bought this at an auction in NYC last year. I got 7 silkscreens altogether.
I'm told this is a one of a kind piece.
It was commissioned for the Rock & Roll hall of fame annex in NYC. The photo was taken by Neal Preston in 1970 at the Festival Express concert in 1970.
You can almost see when the photo was taken in this vintage Festival Express video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjD4eWEUgMM
Late last year, I loaned this to the Museum of the Gulf Coast for a Janis Joplin exhibit they have there. The 1st photo shows it hanging there. The 2nd photo shows it hanging in the now defunct Rock & Roll HOF annex in NYC.
I'd love to know a ballpark figure of it's value and if there are any others like this out there. Thank you
