      Lol, roycroft! Old mountain's man!
If your Indian pawned the ring to get drinking money... Then he didn't drank that much!!! Know some who would need to pawn crown's jewels to get their content...

Kyratango, these silver settings are from the deco/a&c era. They come in gold and silver settings. I have both. And I believe most have carved amethyst or another semiprecious gemstones. Which I believe where from china or Hong Kong. They were made for export. Great share

Idcloisonne, thank you for your visit and comment :-))
there is a comment from Jewels1900 on my earlyer post about silver jadeite ring
      4 months ago:

Hi kyrantango. I think your ring is arts & crafts. The double shank is generally an arts & crafts feature. Many of the inter-war arts & crafts jewellers used carved Chinese stones in their jewels.

      Moonstonelover, thanks for your comment!
Was told too by Jewels1900 on another earlyer post that these leaves were typical american.
Will post again on it's arrival if I can find any mark on it ;-)

Kyra. I apologize. I meant that the stones where exported from Asia and the mountings are American. My bad.

I have a few silver & gold rings with these same cast leaves & flower, but made by different jewellers (different work). I suspect jewellers could buy these leaves & flowers ready made & attach them to rings made & sold commercially (unlike the Arts&Crafts jewellers who made all their leaves & flower by hand).

Just a hunch based on the number of rings with the same style leaves & the variations in work & quality. I've identified at least 2 styles of leaf & 2 styles of flowers which seem to be appear on this type of ring.

I bid on this one on eBay not so long ago but didn't get it. It's one of the best I've seen - http://www.tademagallery.com/content.htm

There's also a similar leaf on German mass produced jewellery of the time. But that one is more of a heart shape like this - http://www.rubylane.com/item/753074-RLx23420/Arts-Crafts-Lapis-Sterling-Pendant

And yes, I do have too much time on my hands.

      Hi Jewels!
Perhaps molds or stamps for these leaves were then available?
For the ring you didn't get, I can't see it (only Tadema home page)
Could you post the image address only?
      Very curious to see it!
Thank you millions time for your nice comment!

Hiya kyratango. The Tadema ring doesn't have an image address. Go to 'newly acquired' & go to the bottom of the page & you'll find it. It's massive with a amethyst, citrine, chalcedony & pearl.

Yeah! It is quite a beauty!
The most I see these leaves, the most I think makers acquired moulds to make themselve these little parts... Difficult to imagine they ordered bunches or ready made from firms?
