School book from Boston, MA. "The Child's Companion" - 1814 - written by Caleb Bingham. The wooden cover is my favorite, and the back cover has a tear...it was sewn together.
I did some research, but not much to be found. There are many reprints of this book, but I'm yet to find one this old.
Any information would be appreciated!

Thanks for the info. The things you said are exactly what I want to know. There are lists of books published by Bingham, but this is not listed. I'm wondering if it was just printed for use in his school.
I also Googled books with wooden covers, but not much to be found. I'm curious about that.
