    I recently found this pin metal detecting.there is not a makers mark on the back.I would like to know if hit is military or not.

      I just found one eBay.ww1 coast artillery marksman A silver badge.

      It is indeed a military badge: called the "Marksman A" and was a RIFLE qualification badge used by the Coast Artillery, after qualifying on the A Course (geared toward long range shooting as would be expected by Coast Artillery soldiers). It was used in the first quarter of the 20th century.
