I happened to get my hands on this beautiful coin and have been doing some research for its authenticity. Is this real or a forgery?

No, it's not real -- not even close.

It's hard to believe it's a fake. How about all the nicks and dings, dirt and old grime. It weighs 21 grams. I also found out that there were several versions of this coin. Can I get some more opinions?

Seriously, even looking at this from ten feet away, I find it hard to believe anyone would think it was real (except someone whom never saw a genuine example).

Every MM of that "coin" has something wrong with it:
The excessive edge because the die was too small
      The missing branch piece
      Incomplete ribbon
Inconsistent depth of the die devices
      That giant last "0"
All the bases of the letters in liberty look bloated and swollen, not cut straight as it should
All the letters on the reverse should have artistic indented bases, not half circles as it is
The wings are just blobs, we are left to imagine that they are wings
      The obverse lettering looks spastic
      The fields are grainy
      The strange anemic zinc color
The pitting where the base metal is reacting with the plating

Someone that posts 1800 Bust Dollar - Is This Real, somewhere down deep inside their brain knows this is not real, that's why they even asked such a question.

If you don't like the free evaluation here send it to a grading company and pay an expert to give you the bad news. I hope you didn't lose too much in this deal.

TubeAmp, I REALLY DO appreciate your evaluation. I'm convinced now. I have never seen a real one except on the internet and I was kinda hoping this was. I have not paid for the coin yet. It was from a widow whose husband had it in his collection and I told her that I'll find out if it was real or not. I did buy a few other coins from her at a good price. Again, thank you.

You are right Riply206, I just know I had one also, it looked a bit different than this and I ended up sticking a magnet to it...just goes to prove that not all fakes are alike :)
