    LOUMANAL
    (436 items)

I've had this forever and I recently came across it while looking for something else. We've always wondered if it was the base for something or an actual vase holder missing the insert. It is reticulated (cut-out) near the rim so it probably wouldn't be a vase. It is signed Made in England with the Sterling "LION PASSANT" mark underneath and has three Hooved legs tapering up to Ram's Heads. It measures 3 1/2" tall by 3 3/4" wide at the rim. It is strange that it does not have the normal English Hallmarks but does have "Made in England". I thought it had to be at least 100 years old. Any comments? RER(BOB)

Were Egg Cruets the same as egg cups......did this large item hold many eggs that were served at a table? It might be able to hold an emu egg. RER(BOB)

It always helps to have something in the photo for scale as I have seen many people's measuring skills be a little off, my apologies. My thinking would be it had a glass insert and was a condiment holder.
