I LOVE this painting!! i picked it up today at Urban Ore for $5. I took it home and padded off the first layer of dirt and grime, but there's quite a bit left on it. I can't find a signature, but i just love the way it was made - quick, confident globbing on of paint, wonderful colors, strong shading/light and a detailed background. Even The frame was painted - almost stuccoed gold. I assume it's from the 50s. It's done on a NYC artist board which appears to be 40s or 50s. i've always liked paintings of fruit, for some reason. every kitchen should have one.
i just added some more pics. i think this is such a cool painting. can anyone tell about when it was painted by the artist board?
