Hi , I think I can sort of help "sort Of" , I had a very similar ride on toy in 1969-1974 but it was used. mine had almost the exact base structure yours has but mine had a crane boom on it with a shovel , it was all orange but the seat and steering design was definitly based on what I had. mine was older seat and steering were metal , (hard to tell if yours is).My wheel hubs were solid not perforated. Color of mine was like a Allis Chalmers orange. it had a crank on the boom that lowewred a shovel like that on a tonka truck but bigger , when it hit the dirt pile and you cranked it up the shovel wuld close up , I have been looking and asking myself but now one that I have talked too shed any light on it nor have they seen one. I have never seen a photo but occasionally I hope on ebay and google things like "pedal shovel " or such , thats how I found your photo. on mine the box under the seat was a little more squared with cut away engine cooling vents, and the boom was laticed , it steered in the back like yours. I live in Buffalo at the time and got it second hand from a wealthier family than we were, I knew that they travled to New York City and went to the high end toy stores to purchase toys for there son. It could even be from a european company.

I just looked at yours closer and memories are coming back , I had the hatch on mine like yours, and you have the vents, I did not see them at first becuase one was white, if you flip it up side down do you see orange paint ? it looks like yours was repainted. but they are from the same company now i know there are two people looking for similar answers. i will let you know , I have been to dozens of tractor shows in the norht east describing my similar toy to pedal tractor dealers with out any luck , fortunately you still have yours , I sold mine at our garage sale for $5 when I was young and stupid , I will find another some day or build one .

I Have been stewing about a little more and I think my wheels were like yours . i remember the two small box like channels on the sides in the back , I have no idea what those where used for ? but they were on mine , are htere any stampings on the underside ? made in usa or numbers ? can you post some other photos of other angles and the bottom ? Its been over 40 years since I have seen one , Thanks for posting it. The mystery might be solved , I can take the photo of this to some people I know that collect pedal cars.
