The first two pictures are of my Chase Metalworks goose-neck style lamp. The lamp itself came without the appropriate shade or Uno top holder.

My mother owns the lamp in the 3rd picture, with the ornate deco-painted, milk glass shade. She purchased it from an antique dealer and I have always wanted one of my own but couldn't afford one from a dealer.

About the time I started seeking one out online, I found the milk glass shade on an auction for $14 and snapped it up. So, I had the cart before I had the horse! It was similar to the shade on my mom's and I knew it would be a great shade to have. Most of the lamps I was seeing on auction either did not have a shade or had a shade that was clearly NOT an original shade or period appropriate. I would probably never find one just like hers and for the price too, since most ornate shades run in the hundreds of dollars. I also liked how the rings surrounding the shade emulated the rings on the lamp base, so I knew it would work well.

I finally found a Chase lamp in excellent condition. I then purchased an Uno top to mate the two auction finds together and I had a marriage made in Deco heaven! I had been looking for vintage Uno tops like the one on my mom's lamp but I haven't been successful in finding one like hers. Maybe one day I will find one and be able to replace my reproduction one with a true antique but for now, it will do.

While I have no idea what the original shade to the lamp looked like, I think I did pretty well in keeping to the Machine Age design era. No matter what, I am so pleased to have this little lamp in my collection. That is what collecting is all about, after all.

It is a great match. Well done!

I think I like the shade on yours better for the lamp than the other (sorry Mum!).
Seems more proportionate to me, but that is a just a personal opinion, not all would agree I'm sure!

Thank you ttomtucker, the phone actually works but I don't have a land line anymore! Oh well, it makes a nice decoration.
