Wondering if any one can help me find out about the history of the Loeffler Phone Company? "Loeffler" was found on the mouthpiece bracket when I was wiping it off and I can't seem to find any info on the company. If you know about this phone company, would you please share the knowledge with us?
    Thanks a ton! Kurt

The so called Loeffler-Phone was founded by Louis J.Loeffler in New York City in the year 1897. Loeffler Telephone Company manufactured wall and candlestick intercoms systems for the upscale apartments and homes in Manhattan locales. Louis Loeffler holds numerous patents on telephone and alarms systems. I have several photo's of loeffler phones to post on my show and tell. your wall intercom was manufactured around 1910.

Do you have any idea what this Loeffler 5 button wooden wall intercom is worth? I have the mouthpiece for it...it needs a new cord.
Just wondering if this phone is unusual.
      Thanks..Kurt

      Kurt,
The Loeffler wall phone is not a common intercom, but some collectors like it in original condition like yours and some collectors like the intercoms restored. I have no comparison on ebay as to the value of your intecom, my guess would be $150.00 and that might be on the high side.

Thanks again for the value estimate. I was surprised to see the "Loeffler-Phone" on the mouthpiece bracket and glad to know that I didn't pay too much for it. I will clean it lightly, replace the cord and leave it alone.

Does anyone know of someone who can repair bakelite receivers and mouthpieces from old telephones and intercoms?
      Thanks!
