My mom gave me this item and said that it belonged to my dad. I have no idea what is and what it was really used for. It says "Lampe" in the front and was supposed to be used to burn benzene - gasoline?? It was made by EHT. I found similar ones on line but they were torches. Is it possible that mine is missing a part?

    Thanks for looking:)

Still doesn't answer my question. I'm guessing that air has to be left in the top of the tank when filled so that when they are pumped-up, it is the fumes that come out of the nozzle that burns? Sounds dangerous if completely filled. Now, to be honest, I'm busy, lazy, and hoping somebody will just answer the question & spare me the research time! Hey, at least I'm honest! Please don't ask about any other virtues, as the only one I can think of is, I show up on time! (Rare in the islands!)

Zowie, in that case, I would expect to see a way to attach an extension for high spots.

It's easily confuse-able; this is not a benzene burner. Note the writing is not in English.

In many countries, gasoline has a colloquial name derived from that of the chemical benzene (e.g., German Benzin, Dutch benzine, Italian benzina, Polish benzyna, Chile bencina, Thai bayn sin , Greek venzini, Romanian benzin?, Swedish bensin, Arabic binz?n). Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay use the colloquial name nafta derived from that of the chemical naphtha.

Tube & Rip, you (y'all) are a wealth of info.. Naptha is my my cleaner of choice because it leaves no residue. Sadly, we can't buy it anymore except in rip-off prices as Zippo & Ronson lighter fluid. Yrs. ago, when I smoked, I found that Avgas from the ganja planes worked really well in my Zippo. Maybe smoked a bit more but worked fine. Maybe I'm saying too much? Make that abandoned ganja planes! That's not working either, is it? Ah shit, I give up! LOL! Yeah, I'm still here on the sidelines gang!
