I've had this piece for close 4 years now & started researching it about a year ago and I'm still wondering :)

    It's approx 18" tall x 13" wide and weighs about 8 to 10 lbs.

Is this from the Qianlong period?
I was hoping someone might be able to estimate a year, or within say, 10 years.

Is this referred to as a vase? a jar? What is it actually called? I have a small amount of Asian pieces I just don't know where to begin...

Any info you may be able to help me with will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Sue

It's beautiful shareurpassion :) I have a lot of modern Chinese porcelain. I collect it because I love the shapes and designs. Those bottom marks will drive you crazy. Unlike American and European porcelain they are almost always spurious or part of the design. I have a pair of Happiness or Wedding jars with the same shape and lid but they not marked.

Jim, you almost gave me a heart attack! LOL I was reading your info and at first thought this one was from the 1700's. Ahhh, I knew better than that!

Thank you so much for the info. I do appreciate it and I did notice you were leaning a little to the left, so it's time to "get right"! lol. Thanks again Jim :)

And thank you Riply for your input and verification!

Thank you Kerry for the love...

And hey Mike, thanks for your input also. Yea, I do like it and really love some but it's really not my style. I think yours are nice, I just don't have room for stuff like that. Maybe I feel like I'd have to change my whole decor to match and that's just out of the question for me...:) I like the story you posted too. Very cool.

Have a great one all! Thanks again!
