Received as a gift from a neighbor - not sure of the history. Has a mark on side of each statue says : marwal ind inc. It is made of some type of chalkware.

Thanks for all the info guys it's really interesting.
I remember as a kid my mum had some chalk ware kookaburras wish I had them now. I cannot believe what was let go for $4,000 mum whole house items. Some of the things she had. Heart breaking
i love foo dogs and chalkware and the color orange!
I love Foo too. I buy them cheap here and there no matter how cheesy and cheap they are made. They all need a home.
