    This has been on my dad's windowsill for over 20 years. It is lacquered wood with inlaid Mother-of-Pearl in the design and on the back it is just painted and lacquered. It is really pretty and stands approx 12 inches high. It is obviously ornamental but I would like to learn more about it. I've tried to find something similar but haven't had any success so if anybody can point me to where I can find out more historical information, I would be very grateful. Dad said it wasn't a souvenir but something he received as a gift from an antique dealer

      Thanks both! Very surprised that it may be Korean as dad was adamant it was Japanese! Another contribution to the charity shop! You guys are so knowledgeable on this stuff!
