this is the East German M56 / 66 Stahlhelm [steel helmet] with camo net, this helmet is marked III for a size large and was made in Jan 1971 , this is one of the first rivetless models that was supplied with a new and improved adjustable leather liner with foam padding that could be easily replaced by simply snapping in a new liner. East Germany also supplied these to the PAVN or the People's Army of Vietnam during the VN war and were mostly used by anti aircraft gun crews and Anti Aircraft Missile Defense crews.

Appears to be a cross between soviet & German.

the design of the shell dates back to 1944 but Hitler didnt approve of the new design, yes it does kind of resemble a cross between a Soviet Ssh68 "Cone head" helmet & German

      thanks!
