    By Bernard Bloch in Eichwald, Bohemia, Austria. This pottery piece is Model #9072 which is a leaf-shaped basket with a figural lady head handle and measures 10.5" in height. The elegant piece is finished in Bloch's signature Crown Oak glaze and dates ca. 1895 - early 1900's.

      idcloisonne, thank you so much for looking. Though the piece could certainly have been used to hold pocket contents, it is rather large for a trinket tray. We believe that it was a calling card holder which would have sat on a table in a foyer by a front door. Again, thank you for your kind comments!
