Wooden case wall clock made by the New Haven Clock Co. New Haven Connecticut and marked 1853.

This is the clock that started it all for me, made me love the incessant tick-tock-tick-tock only a swinging pendulum can produce. This was a clock my Mom found and could never quite get it going but I've got it working away after a good cleaning.

I don't know if it is actually from 1853 or anything else about this clock so if you could share your thoughts I'd appreciate it.

Thanks Shawnicus! The the room sounds like something out of a Hitchcock movie when they are all running. I've learned to wind one (OK maybe 2) at a time to save my sanity. I look forward to seeing what information can be found out about this or any of my clocks. And Phil, thank you, what a lovely glimpse into your life (my condolences for your loss) I'm glad you have fond memories of her.

Great collection of Regulators/Wall clocks, I bet the Tick-tock is cazy as you mentioned above, I have several animated alarm clocks and wound them all.......once and wife threaten to beat me if ever did it again :-). Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your home and collection

This is a short-drop octagon wall clock. The style is often referred to as a School House Clock. They can achieve some pretty decent accuracy. If you provide case dimensions perhaps one of us can narrow down the model/year for you. In the meantime if you haven't done so already, you might check out this link on the New Haven Clock Company: http://www.collectorsweekly.com/clocks/new-haven
