    10.5" tall x 7.25" wide x " deep. Bronze or Brass back and sides, silver or zinc front with ornate decoration of bone/ivory, red coral, amber? Too large to be a powder flask. Can anyone tell me what this was used for, origin and possible age.

      I found this at a craft sale a few days ago. Seller (friend of family) told me they purchased in north Africa 20 yrs ago but no idea of what it is.

      its a decanter or some kind African folk art flask is about right.

      Thanks for that. Never thought of folk art flask, was looking under military memorabilia. Any idea how old it may be? There aren't any markings that I can see
