i had a few nice finds today, and this is one of my favorites. i'm really liking this blue cased glass these days. blue pottery too, come to think of it! anyone know who made this piece? and when?

thank you racer4four! i've been seeing alot of beautiful Japanese glass online, but don't know how to recognize it yet. why would you think that this is Japanese? i LOVE the piece! it's a real beauty. it stands about 10" tall x just under 7" wide.
Gorgeous, I love crisp, clean cased vases! This one is perfect! Sorry, I have no idea who made it though..... =)
The shape, the casing and the base clue me in.
Having said that the base looks very unscuffed from here so maybe it's too new to be Japanese.
I may be wrong (have been before!) and it may be a later item from elsewhere.
You can ignore anything I say if you like.....
