    Hello!
I recently bought this trunk off of an older gentleman in my neighborhood. He doesn't have much information about the trunk, and I'm very curious! Can anyone help me to identify the type of trunk this is, which manufacture, or even time period? Any and all information is appreciated :)
    Thank you!!

Looks like a circa 1880 - 90 dome top trunk. I see many of this style come up however they are usually 1900's without the nice cast iron hardware and rarely with leather. Without a label it is hard to know who would have made it as there was an abundance of makers at the time. A very lovely trunk. Thanks for the post and welcome to Collectors Weekly!

FYI the number 4 on the latches was a size indicator -- 5 being the largest (that I know about) -- those latched are really beautiful and top quality in its time... I called it a dome trunk because it looks slightly domed but it seems close to a flat-top -- but it is in the dome style and even a little curve qualifies in my books..
