On Sunday I went to the Sydney Collectibles Fair as usual but didn't see any of my mates at all!
I think I was too late to catch up with Vetraio and Ozmarty, but I got some nice things which made up for it!
This little bird was overpriced but I was sucked in anyway.
I believe it is meant to be an ashtray, with the beak groove being a cigarette rest, but would work as a little jug or vase, so who knows?
I couldn't believe the sticker when I saw it!
It is a very early Iwatsu Hineri sticker, and this probably dates from the 50s.
I have never seen anything like it from Hineri, so I had to grab it.
Besides, it's pretty cute, don't ya think?

Very attractive. Looks like a bird sculptured vase/bowl. Do not think its an ashtray because here in Canada, I have never seen a bird smoke. Love the structure and color.
