Just wanted to add, the square tin box that holds batteries attaches to the center bottom of tower. The weight of batteries keeps the tower in place while plane goes around. Thanks!
Very nice, I've never seen this one. Have seen similar( Spirit of St Louis), but that one tower was different. Really nice find, happy collecting
In the Tower picture that is not the way it sets up, I had to figure it out. The center rod has the 2 red clips. You pull this part down and it spreads the legs out, then you take the Tin Tower box that holds battery and hang it from the underside of tower just below the bottom red clip. I think for the time period pretty good toy, has plane with motor and propeller action, then the plane flys in circles around the tower, hand speed controller. Lots of moving parts for 50's piece. I stumbled upon this site while trying to research, Chris Bruno/Photographer. I recently purchased an autographed photo by the artist at an antique store in Northwest Missouri. I am curious to know more about him.
