I found this 1948 Neptune Meter Co gas pump left for dead in a junkyard, but I had other plans for it.
The exterior was salvaged by painstakingly banging out the bent panels and building/welding a lightweight frame for it.
For the theme I decided to paint it in honor of my girlfriend, who lives in Argentina. I lightly drew the sun and then painted it with acrylics. Needless to say my back and neck were rather sore after many hours of siting on the floor to finish it.
To complete the look I weathered the paint with a wash of real rust, but it could use a little more.
It really need the staggered rectangular panel for the center of the front door. I should have everything else I need.. including the glass bulb.

I am still looking for a pair of doors along with the belt buckles for my gas pump if you come across a pair please let me know. I am going to take a door off my complete gas pump and stick it on the new one and but them both against a wall so it looks like I have 2 complete matching pumps.

Mucho gracias! I am pleased with it so far, but it, but it really needs the trim pieces to look complete. I'll also cut a piece of lexan for the window and make a rubber gasket. Thanks again for the feedback! :-)
