My elderly mom (93 years old) has this doll her mother bought way back when. My mom thinks it was Scarlet O'Hara from Gone With The Wind. I've search a bit and couldn't find anything that had a dress like that. To complicate matters, my grandmother was a very talented seamstress, so this dress shown may have been one of her creations. My mom doesn't think so, is pretty sure the dress is original, but she could be mistaken.

I placed this with "Madame Alexander" as a sub category because the face looks like some I've seen on the site.

    Can anyone help me out?

    Thanks.

Hi nicolina, I love her face and her dress! Have you looked her over for marks? Like on her back, etc.

No. I have no idea what to look for. Can you steer me. I'll be at my mom's tomorrow and can look.

      Thanks for the help.

I would just look all over her body and head. There are very knowledgable doll experts on here who may take one look and know who she is : )

Before my pc booted meI did not finish your doll has the Maggie face
The Little Women always had 5 dolls with 2 faces. Marme, Meg and Amy all had the Margaret face. Jo and Beth had the Maggie face.

Manikin, I noticed that the dress pattern is not identical to the one in the picture you shared. Does that matter? Also, I couldn't find any markings on her back. Do you know, specifically, where there might be some information.

Thanks so much, Manikin. Can you tell me how old the doll is. My mom was born in 1921 and says she remembers it when living home with her mother. Also, can you give me an idea of how much the doll is worth? Do I need more information or other pictures. She does have little shoes, and it appears that there might have been more hair.

Maggie Face were usually not marked in Little woman , Your doll is hard plastic and dates from 1947-1956 . Hard Plastic had not been invented until then , She is missing part of her hair . Can I see a back photo of hair . ? and also send a close up of face ok :-)

Oh and her dress like this has been seen in 3 different clors od plaid :-)

lol let me say that again I am on such a small notebook and first time using it so that sentence was way off :-(
Maggie (Jo) had 3 different colors of plaid dress's her's changed I guess depending on what the seamstress picked out that day .

Hi , Someone gave her a bad haircut :-( Pretty much takes away her monetary value . Girls often played beauty shop on their dolls and when they got a haircut so did the doll :-)
