I just got this from a friend if a friend whose mother passed and only wanted her jewelry go to jewelry lovers! It's marked from what I can see as 'Monet'. I am new to starting to collect vintage jewelry and Ilove cocktail jewelry so much anyways!!! Cab anyone tell me if this isin fact MMonet, and what approximate year? Ty!!!

If it is a real emerald, I would love to look at it with a lope. Will you marry me? LOL. We don't have snow here! Maybe you could help me get over this problem I have with shyness.

Just having fun with you iluv! I'm a sucker for "blonde over blue". I'm 68, been thru open heart & "No fool like an old fool". Hey, I haven't had a stroke yet! I also luv emeralds & wonder about inclusions? They are just inherent in emeralds. The colour is not real good, but that's hard to find in a stone, especially of that apparent size. It's a hard market, but a good one. Diamonds are an artificial market & I understand that precious stones of colour are 6 times more rare. The jewelers here like to see me but know my loupe will soon come out.
Did I mention that I haven't had a stroke? LMAO!!!

If it's authentic, the stone looks like a peridot, and the metal would be rhodium plated silver. If it's real silver though, it should be hallmarked "sterling" or ".925".
If it's not authentic, the stone would be some form of glass most likely and some plating on a base metal.
Looks good on you either way! :)

Ty ALL so much for the warm welcomes and info!!!!

Hi there...I agree with SnoDrak; peridot. It also could be "lab created". Hard to tell by photos sometimes.

I love the ring you have on and were trying to hide in the 3rd photo!!! Needs a splash of windex and soft toothbrush :)

Lol yes my jewelry rings need a bath :) so is this ring something collectors would want or be interested in?

I guess my last question is, does anyone have a specific site they go to if they were to try to find a buyer for something like this or trades? I don't do eBay because I just have not had the best luck with them in the past, and also, I would much rather go to a site that people who actually collect/enjoy this kind of thing like ourselves.

I've thrown myself at you & proposed marriage & you want more comments? You have proven yourself as a typical woman. LOL!! Comment: Ou la la!
Get used to staff changing categories as it gives them something to do. Keeps them busy, off the streets and out of trouble.
Here is a good beginners way to pick your category: Roll some dice. Then start a slow scroll down the category column, close your eyes and slowly count to the number you rolled , click & submit. When you have this mastered, we will move on to the dart board method.
